Local Chapters Making a Donation

Local chapter contributions to the P.E.O. Foundation and P.E.O. projects are to be sent directly to the s/p/d treasurer (or paid assistant). If in Hawaii, chapter contributions are to be sent to the director of finance/treasurer of International Chapter. Local chapter gift transmittal forms can be found on each s/p/d chapter website.

P.E.O. Foundation

The P.E.O. Foundation is a nonprofit corporation established in 1961 to encourage tax-deductible giving to the educational and charitable projects of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Because it qualifies as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, gifts and bequests to the Foundation are deductible for U.S. and state income, estate and gift tax purposes. Gifts to local or state chapter funds are not tax-deductible because these entities are not qualified charities.

P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund

P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund Educational Loan Fund (ELF) is a revolving loan fund established in 1907 to lend money to qualified women students to assist them in securing a higher education. P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund (ELF) is a nonprofit organization, qualified as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts and bequests to ELF are deductible for U.S. and state income, estate and gift tax purposes.

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund was established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund is a nonprofit organization, qualified as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts and bequests to IPS are deductible for U.S. and state income, estate and gift tax purposes.

P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education

P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (PCE) was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education (PCE) is a nonprofit organization, qualified as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts and bequests to PCE are deductible for U.S. and state income, estate and gift tax purposes.

P.E.O. Scholar Awards (PSA) was established in 1991 to provide substantial merit-based awards for women of the United States and Canada who are pursuing a doctoral level degree at an accredited college or university. P.E.O. Scholar Awards (PSA) is a nonprofit organization, qualified as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts and bequests to PSA are deductible for U.S. and state income, estate and gift tax purposes.

P.E.O. STAR Scholarship

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the United States or Canada in the next academic year. The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship is a nonprofit organization, qualified as a charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Gifts and bequests to the P.E.O. STAR Scholarship are deductible for U.S. and state income, estate and gift tax purposes.

Cottey College - A nationally ranked, fully accredited, independent, liberal arts/sciences college for women located in Nevada, Missouri, has been owned/supported by P.E.O. since 1927 and offers baccalaureate and associate degrees in a variety of majors. Cottey College, a debt-free institution, welcomes women from around the world.
